Cardi B said he drugged a man who was robbed because he had ‘limited choice’
After a video appeared about Cardi B claiming to rob and anesthetize a man, the singer explained himself.
In a clip from Instagram Live which was recorded three years ago, the rapper said, “I have to go naked, I have to go,‘ Oh yeah, you want to trap me? Yes, yes, yes, let’s go back to this hotel, ‘and I use drugs – it’s gone, and I robbed them. That’s what I usually do, “(through Hip Hop Ratchet), he explained.
After fear of social media users responding to the recognition of a 26-year star with the hashtag #SurvivingCardiB (referring to the documentary R. Kelly “Surviving R. Kelly”) Cardi took to Instagram to explain his actions.
“So I saw on social media that [an Instagram] I immediately did 3 years ago has reappeared. A live where I talk about things I have to do in my past is right or wrong which I feel I need to do to make a living, “he wrote in a post on Tuesday. “I have never claimed to be perfect or come from a perfect world with a perfect past. I always tell the truth, I always have mine.”
The star said that while many artists glorify violence and crime, that is not his style.
“There are rappers who glorify drugs for murder and robbery. The crime they feel they have to do to survive, “he said. “I never glorified the things that I put forward at the concert. I never even included those things in my music because I wasn’t proud of it and felt responsible for not glorifying it.”
While the former stripper said he was not proud of his actions, he felt it was necessary at the time.
“I made the choice I made at that time because I had very limited choices. I am blessed to be able to rise from it but so many women do not, “he said. “Whether it was a bad choice or not at that time I did what I had to do to survive.”
And the Bronx natives clarified that all the men mentioned in the clip were the men he dated and he claimed they knew what he was doing.
“The man I talked about in my life was the man I dated that I was involved with men who [they] were aware of willing and aware,” he said. “I have a past that we can’t change like all of us.”
He continued, “what I can do now is become a better person for myself, my family and my future.”
Cardi is married to rapper Offset, with whom he shares an 8-month-old daughter, Kulture.
