Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp down for more than two hours
Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp all have problems this morning for users around the world. Facebook and Instagram are both inaccessible, with news feeds refusing to be refreshed and the main Facebook.com domain not available for more than two hours. WhatsApp messages also cannot be sent or received, and Facebook’s main service users (Facebook has Instagram and WhatsApp) go to Twitter to share that they have a problem. Messenger, Facebook’s chat service, also dropped for more than two hours.
Blackouts appeared to have started around 6:30 am ET this morning, and some locations were more affected than others. “Earlier today, some people might have problems connecting to the application family,” a Facebook spokesman said in a statement to The Verge. “The problem has been resolved; We apologize for any inconvenience. “Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp all started back online around 9am ET this morning.
Facebook’s problem comes only a month after Facebook experienced the worst outage ever. Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram were all inaccessible for hours last month, and it wasn’t until more than 24 hours later that Facebook finally gave everything clear. Facebook blames “server configuration changes,” and apologizes for the outages.
